Raziel Reid: Governor General's Literary Award WINNER (Nov 2014)

Raziel Reid has won the $25,000 Governor General's Literary Award for his debut young adult novel When Everything Feels like the Movies, becoming the youngest ever winner in the children's literature categories.

In awarding Raziel the prize, the jury reported:

"An edgy and uneasy story with no simple resolutions, Raziel Reid's When Everything Feels like the Movies is unflinching. An openly gay teen in a small-minded town, Jude Rothesayís fantasy life is a movie but his real life isnít. He is audacious, creative, rude, often hilarious and sometimes heartbreaking. Heís unforgettable."

Raziel will be presented with the award at a ceremony in Ottawa on November 26. Congratulations, Raziel!
