Dayne Olgivie Prize: Tamai Kobayashi, Rae Spoon, Proma Tagore (Jun 2014)


At a ceremony on June 23/14, the Writers Trust of Canada awarded its 2014 Dayne Ogilvie Prize for LGBT Emerging Writers to Tamai Kobayashi, while Honours of Distinction were awarded to Rae Spoon and Proma Tagore.

Tamai's story collection Quixotic Erotic was published by Arsenal in 2003. Her first novel, Prairie Ostrich, was published by Goose Lane earlier this year.

Rae, an established musician with numerous recordings to their credit, is the author of the Lambda Literary Award finalist First Spring Grass Fire and co-author (with Ivan E. Coyote) of Gender Failure.

Proma's debut poetry collection, language is not the only thing that breaks, was published by Arsenal in 2011.
