Larissa Lai: The Lost Century: An Uplift Asian event at Vancouver Public Library

Vancouver, BC Apr 10 07:00 pm

Larissa Lai reads from her latest novel The Lost Century at the Vancouver Public Library on April 10 as part of their "Uplift Asian" series.

Why is what we know of the past so full of holes?

In her recent novel The Lost Century, award-winning author Larissa Lai takes us to World War II Hong Kong and uses the back-drop of the island's invasion by the Japanese to tell a story of colonialism, resistance, and the love of a family–against all odds.

Join Larissa in conversation with Rita Wong as they discuss a work that has been called “a marvel: tender, funny, beautiful, powerful and even transcendent.”
