Visual artist Stan Douglas has won the $50,000 Scotiabank Photography Award. Douglas’s work will be the subject of a solo exhibition during 2014’s Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival in Toronto, and will also have published a catalogue raisonnée of all the major works of his career, published by art book publisher Steidl.
Douglas, often associated with the “Vancouver School” of famed conceptual artist-photographers, has been the subject of numerous books, including two published by Arsenal Pulp Press: Stan Douglas: Abbott and Cordova, 7 August 1971
and Stan Douglas: Every Building on 100 West Hastings Street
