Daniel Francis wins Governor Generals History Award for Popular Media (Nov 2017)

Daniel Francis, author of numerous books, has won the 2017 Governor General's History Award for Popular Media (a.k.a. the Pierre Berton Award) for his distinguished career as a historian and author.

He is the author of thirty books on a wide array of subjects, including four he's written for Arsenal Pulp Press: The Imaginary Indian, National Dreams, Seeing Reds, and L.D.: Mayor Louis Taylor and the Rise of Vancouver, which won the Vancouver Book Award. Perhaps his best known project was the definitive Encyclopedia of British Columbia, published by Harbour Publishing.
