Wayde Compton reads from The Outer Harbour in Toronto (Mar 2015)

Acclaimed poet Wayde Compton reads from his debut story collection The Outer Harbour in Toronto on March 27 as part of the ACROSS series.

ACROSS is a reading and performance series in Toronto that reaches from poetry communities outward to other genres and artforms, and proposes more intermingling of audiences, creative positions and social identities.

Also appearing with Wayde are AISHA SASHA JOHN, dance/text with violin; Vocal ensemble performance: ALEX SAMARAS with GREX; Performance/Installation: ANDREW McPHAIL and SACHIKO MURAKAMI; Poetry: BELINDA KWAN and YAN WEN.

In its review, the Vancouver Sun reported: "The Outer Harbour is the work of a remarkable, mature writer at the top of his powers, creating fictions that are not only vastly entertaining but also freighted with important messages from the margins."
